“A chasing after the wind…” a recurring theme throughout this shrewd satire, an illustrious body of work from the wise Solomon, is a story I have grown quite fond of this past year, and one that I hold dear in my heart. It is a chapter that brings forth to life the benefits a person can gain from surrendering to the Lord and rediscovering his passion.

Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

– Book of Ecclesiastes 11

I realized that I must make it a priority to continue honing my gift whenever I can, even when I am uninspired, drained after work, or grasped by the doom of laziness. The key lies in CONSISTENCY and DISCIPLINE. Establishing smart goals to further propel me towards what my heart desires.

Writing goals down helps me to stay committed to realizing my dreams, while fully aware that I will not always be on my sharpest. It is my marathon, a journey that I must endure until I realize what lies dormant in my heart.

“Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land”. – Book of Ecclesiastes 11

The key to insulating in moments of crisis. Change is rugged, unpredictable, and heart-wrenching; expect it and accept it, life will become bearable. This is how I have been able to cherish life lessons during trialing times.

The moment one accepts that a risk-free life is impossible is when he awakens his vigor to embark on uncharted avenues.

Goes without saying, you can’t put all your eggs in one basket. This principle has never been more forthcoming than now. We have all had to overcome different challenges; learn new skills that can provide our livelihood. Many realized that the path they had been on was not truly fulfilling their life.

Versatility is a vital tool that one must rely on to become more resourceful.

Don’t be afraid to get into avenues that might have petrified you in the past. It is one area of my life that I am trying to improve on as well. You never know what type of miracles could ensue just from making that decision of investing in yourself.

So, I have been capitalizing on each opportunity with the mindset of “what could go right rather than what could go wrong”. Fear vanishes once you successfully apply these principles in your personal life.

It’s at that moment you begin to understand the modus operandi of this seasonal flux. Henceforth make the most of each opportunity, make every effort to walk in tune with the Most High, for joy lies within the present. It is a gift.
